If you're in the UK and looking to sell a collection of used, vintage or antique magic books or magic history books, we may be interested.

 

We purchase books from retiring magicians, estates, magic clubs and magicians simply having a sort out. Below is a short guide on selling your books to us:

Condition:

We buy books in all sorts of conditions but we cannot purchase books which smell of smoke, damp or have mould.

List or photographs:

The first stage is to send us either a list of your books if you have one, or some photographs clearly showing the spines of the books (or the covers where titles are not visible on spines).

Price:

We request a rough asking price upfront as a starting point. We sometimes offer more than this asking price, sometimes less, but without it we cannot determine whether a lot is worth our time to price up.

 

Naturally our offer would be lower than the "retail value" of the books when sold individually as we are a retailer selling books individually and require a margin. We always do our best to be fair and offer as high a price as we are able to.

Our offer would usually be higher than an auction value for the collection, plus there would be no auction fees on buyer or seller, so the amount the seller would receive would typically be much higher than selling through auction.

Delivery, collection or shipping:

We can sometimes arrange collection for larger lots of books, though this may affect the offer we make. For small collections we can advise on the best ways to send books via post or courier. We can also accept delivery in Sheffield for larger lots if you are able to deliver.
