This rare book by the London magic and toy dealer W. H. Cremer was first published around 1870 and was an important stepping stone to Hoffmann's books. This is a very early edition, possibly a first. It has Chatto and Windus lists bound in the back dated 1874 and 1876.
 
Condition: Fair/poor. A well worn copy with marks throughout. An owner has pasted in some newspaper clippings on the empty spaces of pages and this paste has caused some pages to be torn and worn with occasional areas of text illegible. There are also annotations throughout and the front endpaper is split. A good opportunity to buy an affordable copy of a very early edition of this important book.
