This fascinating book by the inventor of Pepper's Ghost is filled with scientific tricks and experiments, beautifully illustrated, including optical tricks similar to the ones which made him famous. This was donated by Ellis Stanyon to The Magician's Club (Will Goldston's). It has stamps for the club library and their paper identification label on the spine. A "presented by" stamp has Stanyon's name and the date 19/11/30 written. Comparing this name to Stanyon's signature which appears in Goldston's Who's Who, it probably isn't written by Stanyon himself, but by the club librarian.

Condition: Good/fair, some general wear and marks to the boards, with knocks to extremities, foxing, marks and stamps to the inside including some labels for Stanyon's shop.
