This very early version of Lascelles Wraxall's translation was published in 1860 and was a second edition by Chapman and Hall. Robert-Houdin's memoirs are a heady mix of autobiography and storytelling. Robert-Houdin is widely regarded as the father of modern magic and this book is his telling of how he earned that title.
Condition: Fair, good for age, spine cloth has cracked and there is loss in three areas dur to embrittlement, boards are marked and worn with bent corners, binding still tight and pages clean with occasional marks. A good bookbinder could rebind and maintain the original printed boards to remedy the brittle spine cloth.
