This is my personal favourite book on the history of the spiritualist movement, seances and the backlash that ensued from magicians and sceptics. It's thorough and not written by either a magician or a spiritualist, so it gives a balance and distance rarely found in books on this subject. With many illustrations, it's an enjoyable and informative read.

Condition: Good, spine of dust jacket yellowed, minor general wear to the book.
