This hard to find book from 1891, collects some of the writings of Lionel Weatherly and John Nevil Maskelyne on the supernatural. With a striking frontispiece of Maskelyne appearing as a spirit to Weatherly still present. The Maskelyne chapters cover Oriental Magic, Spiritualism and Theosophy.  A rare book of great interest to those studying the history of magic and Maskelyne's crusade against the spiritualists.

Condition: Good, some wear to top and bottom of spine and corners of boards, some marks and wear to covers, endpapers split but boards still well attached, binding slightly loose in a few places but pages still well bound, a few creases and minor marks to pages, a very nice copy.
