This groundbreaking book looks at the theory of magic (written by Maskelyne) and the practice of magic (by Devant). An absolute essential for any magician or magic history fan. This is the first London edition with photographic illustrations (many on the stage at St. George's Hall) rather than the line drawings in some later editions.
Condition: Good, some wear to boards and spine with a 2.5cm split to the top of spine (with no loss of material), foxing to endpapers and slight cracking to endpapers (though board hinges still sound and well attached), some foxing to page edges, binding still tight and secure with all plates present. A very nice copy.
