This ambitious book attempts to collect together all magic effects from cultures East of the Suez Canal. It begins with an index written by Sharpe which aims to identify when various effects were first put into print. Following that, Ayling expands on each of these effects giving methods to the tricks with illustrations and photographs throughout. Though much of the history here is flawed, it is a great book full of practical effects and good references.
