This is number 403 of just 500 Limited Edition sets produced. The seal on the main box had been broken to allow the book to be read, the cards are both still sealed in their cellophane and have matching numbered seals as the main box. The specially printed hand initialled card is pristine in a plastic protector.
Publisher's description (of the standard edition):
Born in Germany in 1674, Matthew Buchinger moved to the British Isles where he was notorious for his exhibitions of conjuring, swordplay, bowling, and dancing. He played over half a dozen musical instruments, though he had no arms or legs. He was only twenty-nine inches tall but married four times and fathered fourteen children.
Buchinger was also a master of calligraphic styles and he often created micrographic specimens that were only visible with the aid of magnification. Samples of his work grace many important collections, as do the handbills and broadsides featuring his amazing skills. This fascinating and beautiful volume is the result of one such collection and combines Ricky Jay's passion for the extraordinary with his erudition as a scholar.
