Publisher's description (translated):

The author is the granddaughter of the once-famous magic couple Rosa and János Bartl. They founded a magic company in Hamburg in 1910, which soon became world famous. Up until the late 1990s, Bartl was a household name for a famous magic trade. Around ten years ago, the author began researching the life story of her grandparents and recorded it in book form. In doing so, she sighted sources that had previously been slumbering in secret. Be it the exact company details of János Bartl or sources for the cooperation with the Hamburg colleague Carl Willmann, to mention just two points. The later company owner, Carl-Gerd Heubes, also initially ran his company with a prominent Hamburg partner who had hardly been mentioned before. This and much more Enriched with rare illustrations from the Bartl archive, which got into the author's hands like flotsam, records a life and company history that is second to none. Last but not least, a piece of Hamburg history was created in this way.
