Shipping Information and Terms and Conditions

Important information for EU customers:

As you may be aware, changes came into force on the 1st of July 2021 changing the rules for importing goods into the EU. EU customers may now be charged VAT and customs handling charges at their border if they purchase a book from a non-EU business.

You can still purchase books directly through this website and pay your local customs and VAT charges (if there are any) to receive your book. Alternatively, you can pay your VAT when you make your purchase, which should avoid additional charges and delays at your country's border. Sadly the UK Government has not prioritised this issue, so there is no simple way for small businesses to collect and pass on the tax to EU member states at present. We do have a work-around though.

To pay your country's VAT prior to shipping, please follow these directions

Once you have finished adding books to your cart please click the green "Checkout" button on the cart page. You will be shown your cart and your postage options.

Select the "Offline Payment" option and proceed to place the order. Please DO NOT select the PayPal option on this page.

Within two working days you will receive an email with a link to purchase your books as an item on Etsy.com, where you can pay your country's VAT upfront via their checkout page. This invite may take up to two working days to arrive, though we aim to process them as quickly as possible.

If you would prefer to pay through this site directly you may do so, but you will be liable for any VAT and handling charges made by your country's customs services.

Please only proceed with the Offline Payment method if you know you will purchase the books in your order when you are sent the Etsy item. It is a great deal of additional work for us to process sales in this way and repeated non-payments may force us to retract this method and push additional charges onto EU customers.

Many second-hand books are available to purchase via Etsy already, where your VAT will be automatically added. To view our Etsy shop follow this link.

International Customers:

Import VAT and customs charges may be applied by your local customs agency. These are the responsibility of the purchaser and not CollectingMagicBook.com. If you are unsure of your country's customs and handling charges please consult your local government body.
